I created The Hearth for leaders and high achievers ready to move beyond the drive for competence. It's a transformational space to discover what lies outside the achiever identity. Here, you have permission to drop unnecessary performance pressure and make direct contact with your experience and what's actually present - within you as well as between you and others - so you can engage with life from a deeper sense of coherence.

How it works: Two tracks. One programme.

 

The Hearth isn't a curriculum. It's a field of practice.

 

It's a space that loosens the pressure to perform, so you can relate beyond competence, and experience what it's like to lead when you don't have to manage an identity or carry other people's problems.

The Hearth works on two levels simultaneously: 1) you - liberating yourself from the rescuing, perfectionism, self-doubt or control that diminish your presence; as well as 2) the rooms you lead liberating others from the same dynamics, so you can co-create better conditions for work and collaboration.

FOUR MONTHS AT THE HEARTH

 

What you'll accomplish:

Presence and confidence are often named as qualities of leadership but can remain elusive. Coherence is the result of specific capacities you'll develop including concentration, contact with experience, and equanimity. This will enable you to:

Stabilise your attention under pressure, even when complexity and relational demands could divide your focus.

Expand your tolerance for silence, slowness, and tension - especially when you don’t step in to fix or intervene.

Distinguish between a habitual impulse to communicate and a coherent response that feels alive in you.

Understand the true meaning of boundaries and how to hold them while staying connected.

Clarify your life vision, values, and voice beyond the competent, achiever identity.

I joined Amina’s group programme a few years ago and later continued working with her through both group and 1:1 coaching. At the time, I found myself questioning how I was showing up and leading, the roles I was playing, and who I wanted to become on the other side of it all.

ABOUT YOUR HOST, FACILITATOR, AND COACH

People often know me through my work with high achievers and leaders who want to  break free from what keeps them stuck in their career and life.

 

My medical career took me into hospitals, humanitarian crises, and the corridors of national and global health policy. I've sat in rooms where the stakes were high and the dynamics were difficult. I've delivered babies in a war zone and been on call during a global pandemic.

Since 2016, I've worked with senior leaders and professionals as a trusted advisor and executive coach in both 1:1 and group settings. In 2020, I published The Success Trap — a UK Business Book Award winner exploring why talented people get stuck and how they break free. My training spans Integral Coaching, Nonviolent Communication (BayNVC), and Transformational Connection facilitation.

The Hearth draws on two decades of work: systemic thinking, social and medical science, relational leadership, and a long contemplative practice that keeps me honest about the gap between knowing and being. This work matters to me because the rooms you lead affect real people.

FAQ

When and where do we meet?

On Zoom, every two weeks. Two optional pre-calls in August, then the programme kicks off in September.

Is there a programme?

The Hearth is an experiential programme focused on practising leadership and communication beyond habitual identity, with real-time feedback from Amina and the group.

Each session begins with a short set of guiding principles, which may adapt depending on what is emerging in the group.

Can I reclaim the fee from my organisation? 

Many participants reclaim all or part of the investment through their leadership development budget. Proof of payment and attendance available on request.

Will there be homework? 

Not formally. Between sessions you'll be back in your real life decision-making situations — that's where the real practice happens. Amina will suggest specific tools or practices for you during the session based on what you bring.

Will I get 1:1 coaching? 

Each participant has a 20-minute optional monthly check-in with Amina. Additional 1:1 executive coaching is available as an add-on.

What if I miss a session? 

Sessions are recorded. That said, the live relational work is where the real value is — consistent attendance is part of the commitment to yourself and the group.

Is there any preparation?

No required reading in advance — any references will be provided during the programme based on what the group needs. A meditation or journalling practice helps. The August pre-calls are also available to start immersing yourself in The Hearth experience.

Can I get a refund?

Fees are non-refundable, though in exceptional circumstances we may be able to transfer your place to a future cohort.
