The Hearth builds on previous programmes that have run annually since 2020. It includes the personal transformation aspect and expands the relational transformation. This enhances the integration of your own transformation into daily life. The practice isn't just how to expand your leadership.  It’s how you lead without losing yourself - under pressure. The Hearth offers a unique and powerful experience in these ways:

 

  • Many leadership development programmes split into either performance and productivity goals or wellbeing and spirituality. They either centre the system and delivery or personal recovery and self-care. The Hearth weaves them together.

 

  • The Hearth expands your capacity to stay present with the questions "what's it like to be you, what's it like to be us, and where are we going?" beyond reflective time so you can ground and act effectively under pressure and complexity.

  • You'll be with like-minded, service-driven leaders, professionals, coaches, and facilitators holding complex decision-making while also doing their own inner work.

The Hearth isn't a curriculum. It's a field of practice.

 

The Hearth works on two levels simultaneously: 1) your inner capacity as a leader to liberate yourself from tendencies of rescuing, perfectionism, self-doubt or control and deepen your presence; as well as 2) your ability to liberate others from the corresponding dynamics that distort decision making, so you can co-create the rooms you're in.

Recent doctoral research by Sebastian Fox (2025) suggests that teams work best not because of goal-orientation but by being present to the unspoken and making space for emergence.

 

What’s possible in a room is shaped by tone. When room tone is free from distortion and well set — neither too tight nor too loose — new possibilities can be acted on. Tone is influenced by capacities in 3 areas:

THE PROGRAMME: ONLINE

 

Eight sessions. Live situations. Deep presence.

  • McKinsey’s research in “Why leadership-development programs fail” argues that most programmes do not move leaders beyond information into deeper transformation and real-world application.​ The Hearth is 80% experiential and 20% reflective. Fully presence-based, systemically aware, and evidence-informed.

 

  • Each session begins with reflective insights, then moves into live practice using real scenarios brought by you, with integration and feedback over time.

 

Session 1:

Sensing the room: Who are we individually and together?

Learning to track the level of openness and energy in the room with simple practices.

Session 2:

Shaping the room: Who do we want to become individually and together?

Developing the ability to shape room tone as a leader regardless of your role, through invitational moves rather than fixed agendas.

Session 3

Bringing your vision: What do we want to create together and why?

Clarifying what matters to you and why; and how to communicate so it lands. 

Session 4

Making the asks: How do we make it real?

Moving beyond inspiration and ideas into specific action. Working with the vulnerability of asking, receiving, and saying 'no' based on vision and capacity.

Session 5

Navigating power and politics: How do we connect across differences?

Deepening your awareness of foundational power dynamics and how to work with them. Holding space for differences without compromising safety and ethics.

Session 6

Timing interventions and unifying disruption: Are we still together?

Refining your intuition about when and how to speak, shift dynamics, and set boundaries that deepen trust and connection.

Session 7

Landing safely: How do we work together apart?

Learning how to ground the room even amid unresolved complexity, with clear completion and continuity.

Session 8

Integration: What's possible now?

Reviewing and refining real-life scenarios brought by the group. Having specific tools to continue your journey. 

The programme also includes live deep-dive and practical sessions shaped by the needs emerging in the group.

                 Hi, I'm Dr. Amina Aitsi-Selmi

People often know me through my work with high achievers and senior leaders who want to make a meaningful difference in the world — and break free from what keeps them stuck.

 

My medical career took me into hospitals, humanitarian crises, and the corridors of national and global health policy. I've sat in rooms where the stakes were high and the dynamics were difficult. I've delivered babies in a war zone and been on call during a global pandemic.

Since 2016, I've worked with senior leaders and professionals as a trusted advisor and executive coach in both 1:1 and group settings. In 2020, I published The Success Trap — a UK Business Book Award winner exploring why talented people get stuck and how they break free. My training spans Integral Coaching, Nonviolent Communication (BayNVC), and Transformational Connection facilitation.

The Hearth draws on two decades of work: systemic thinking, social and medical science, relational leadership, and a long contemplative practice that keeps me honest about the gap between knowing and being. This work matters to me because the rooms you lead affect real people.

FAQ

When and where do we meet?

On Zoom, every two weeks. Two optional pre-calls in August, then the programme kicks off in September.

Can I reclaim the fee from my organisation? 

Many participants reclaim all or part of the investment through their leadership development budget. Proof of payment and attendance available on request.

Will there be homework? 

Not formally. Between sessions you'll be back in your real life decision-making room— that's where the real practice happens. You may receive a suggestion during the session based on what you bring. You may choose to try something different based on an insight from the session. What you do with it is yours to decide.

Will I get 1:1 coaching? 

Each participant has a 20-minute optional monthly check-in with Amina. Additional 1:1 executive coaching is available as an add-on.

What if I miss a session? 

Sessions are recorded. That said, the live relational work is where the real value is — consistent attendance is part of the commitment to yourself and the group.

Is there any preparation?

No required reading in advance — any references will be provided during the programme based on what the group needs. The best preparation is noticing the patterns that already show up in your leadership and communication. A meditation or reflective practice helps. The August pre-calls are also useful for a strong start.

Can I get a refund?

Fees are non-refundable, though in exceptional circumstances we may be able to transfer your place to a future cohort.
